That is, it's actually part and parcel of why we are here right now, for years and years, many Americans have been conditioned to see wealth, as the same as "intellect", but it doesn't mean anything, in his case, he's just got fewer scruples. Money, beyond "enough to survive", don't mean shit to me, or impress me at all, so I see guys like him and trump, as a dime a dozen, and tend to see right through the con, where the average American sees that money, gets starry eyed, and look past all the glaring faults.
At this point, there's no excuse for not seeing all his vaporware and empty promises, cause they've been regularly failing to materialize forever. Have we seen the "Tesla Roadster" yet? Nope. Starship? Well, we've seen our tax dollars spectacularly explode a bunch of times, he was gonna be "landing on the moon" years ago, has yet to achieve orbit. Mars? HAHAHAHA! Naaah, that went from 2 years, to twenty, now he's talking about a data center on the moon, or some shit.
It's mind blowing, billions of dollars in government contracts just evaporate, and the audience clap like seals. I mean, I guess you gotta give credit where due, people DO keep giving him silly amounts of money. The "future of transportation" with the Boring company, a tunnel, to go across the street, with one passenger, where a bus could take 50, well that thing's just an empty lot growing weeds now.
